Background

The protein encoded by this gene is found in the cytoplasm of quiescent cells but translocates to the nucleolus in proliferating cells. The encoded protein interacts with survival motor neuron protein (SMN1) to enhance pre-mRNA splicing and to induce neuronal differentiation and axonal growth. Defects in this gene or the SMN1 gene can cause spinal muscular atrophy. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

	Western blotting analysis using anti-ZPR1 zinc finger antibody (Cat#62800). Total cell lysates (30 μg) from various cell lines were loaded and separated by SDS-PAGE. The blot was incubated with anti-ZPR1 zinc finger antibody (Cat#62800, 1:5,000) and HRP-conjugated goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody (Cat#201, 1:20,000) respectively. Image was developed using FeQ™ ECL Substrate Kit (Cat#226).

	Flow cytometric analysis of ZPR1 zinc finger expression in HepG2 cells using anti-ZPR1 zinc finger antibody (Cat#62800, 1:2,000). Green, isotype control; red, ZPR1 zinc finger.
	Immunocytochemical staining of HepG2 cells with anti-ZPR1 zinc finger antibody (Cat#62800, 1:1,000). Nuclei were stained blue with DAPI; ZPR1 zinc finger was stained magenta with Alexa Fluor® 647. Images were taken using Leica stellaris 5. Protein abundance based on laser Intensity and smart gain: Medium. Scale bar: 20 μm.
